Is Children Photography Hard? Why Our Family Photo Always Meaningless?
Photography is no different than cave painting, we all want to tell our story, some wants to record that story for others who missed out. “Did you see the anguish in her face, did you notice the mother’s reaction?”
Photography is, after all, too profoundly interwoven with the deep things of nature to be entirely unlocked by any given method. Every individual who launches his happiness on this stream finds currents and rocks are not laid down in the chart.
Photography is used to preserve memories of favorite times, to capture special moments, to tell stories, to send messages, and as a source of entertainment. Photography is a complex art which needs a lot of attention, and skills of thinking beyond the limits of normal human being. You need to put the best efforts into photography to come up with the best results. Photography should always be a creative process – no matter what picture you trying capture.
Today, most every house owned a camera. With the explosion of digital camera, there has been even greater explosion of digital photos! Yet many people, novices and professionals use the equivalent of a digital shoe box to organize their images, leaving them to gather virtual dust. Why is this happening?
One of the reasons are, picture taken by this people do not tell the stories, poor quality and the subject ‘drowned’ in the picture. Sometimes, a little modification and common sense can make the picture look very alive.
Everybody loves to take photo. But, what are commonly happen is, they take picture right from his own height and angle – the result will become odd as the picture will have a downward perspective. The taller the photographer, the shorter the subject is, the oddest the picture will turn out. What they should practice are, just knee down and have a equal height as the child before taking the picture. By doing this, the photo quality becomes better. For this few second adjustment, picture taken in few second will become memories of the life time.
Another common mistakes are, they love to take photograph with a building background. They always ask their kids to be nearer the building rather than nearer to the camera. To get full building picture, they will walk away from the subject until the building can fit inside the camera viewfinder. By doing this, the result will tend to make the kids ‘drowned’ in the picture.
What they should do is, they should just ask them to come nearer to camera rather than nearer to the building. When they nearer to the camera, the picture becomes meaningful as the face look clearer without sacrificing the building background. This is purely common sense and many people just overlooked it.
Another factor should consider is, the main subject should always fill at least 35% of the photo. By doing this, the message that we try to tell will clearly explained. This common mistakes always occur when people take picture along the beach. The subject sometimes only 10% inside the photo and the rest is fill by the sky, the sea, the beaches and others.
The low quality photo will only be stored in your PC hard disk and will least likely to be printed and album it.
All this mistakes clearly can be prevent by us as an adult. With a little adjustment, our photograph will look more meaningful later and the picture will get and ‘evergreen’ rating. By doing this also, the photo is more appreciated and more likely to print and album it. Just always remember this, every ‘click’ counts as you won’t have another chance to capture the same photo again.
